>> IKAN LELE TAUCO |
 |
| Warung Lele Restaurant, a place where you get authentic Indonesian cuisine served with a smile. Having moved from the Chinatown conservation area to the Kampong Glam conservation area at 32 Kandahar Street, we continue to serve old favourites such as the Ikan Lele cooked in various ways, a variety of seafood either grilled, or cooked the traditional Indonesian way, as well as a wide selection of vegetables and beancurd dishes. Contrary to the misconception that Indonesian food must be hot and spicy, we do have an array of food that is neither hot or spicy to suit the palates of customers who do not like hot stuff. We also continue to carry a selection of vegetarian food to cater to the needs of our friends who may be on vegetarian diet for one reason or another. And in answer to some of our regulars’ queries, the food is still being prepared by the same cooks who started with us when we first opened for business in 2004. They have been bolstered by the addition of two other cooks to bring more variety to the dishes you can get to savour.
Our Indonesian decor, simple but warm and cosy, blends perfectly with the ambience in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood. Apart from the air-conditioned dining area, we have a small al fresco dining area for those who like the idea of outdoor dining.
We pledge to continue to dish out delicious food at reasonable prices to cater to the needs of our growing list of regulars. On special occasions like Christmas or Chinese New Year, we will bring in non-Indonesian festive dishes such as Turkey and Yu Sheng. As our restaurant is Halal certified, Muslim friends can also enjoy these seasonal specials along with their non-Muslim friends and join in the festive celebrations!
Our objective is to bring you good food at reasonable prices, our biggest reward is to know that you have enjoyed yourself at our restaurant. |
